UNICOM ENDE 05-01-2024.- The National Electricity Company (Ende Corporation), through Ende
Transmission, replaced a high voltage tower that presented damage to its structure, caused by
landslides, in a section of the Valle Hermoso electric line – Santiváñez, in the Ushpa Ushpa area of the
Cochabamba department, thus guaranteeing an uninterrupted electricity supply.
Recent rains in the Ushpa – Ushpa sector caused the geological instability of a large area
of land, causing cracks, local landslides, deformation and inclination of the strata of
land, where the high voltage tower was located No. 10. This situation caused
Deformations in main profiles and uprights of the structure, causing mechanical instability
With a risk of collapse of the same, compromising the operation of the transmission line.
After a planning process, the state electricity made the decision to replace Tower No. 10 of
immediate way.Structure assembly works, phase conductors and cables
save the new structures and disassembly of the affected structure, were executed in 2 days, with
The de -negized line.
To achieve this objective within the planned period, a large number of personnel moved and
They used two high capacity cranes for assembly and disassembly of 44 meters of
height. The execution of this activity was coordinated with ELFEC, the Alejo Calatayud subalcaldía, the
USPHA USPHA and OTB Japan community, preventing possible risks, typical of this type of work.
The tower was substituted without incident registration and the transmission line was successfully
replaced,
guaranteeing in this way, the reliability of the electrical transmission network and providing
tranquility to the population surrounding the structure, which was susceptible to the possible
collapse of it and the interruption of the electric service.
