LA RAZÓN: Bolivia generates 62% of energy through thermoelectric plants, ENDE promotes hydroelectric plants
62% of the electrical energy that Bolivia produces is through thermoelectric plants that use natural gas as a raw material, Jorge Durandal, general manager of ENDE Transmission, a subsidiary of ENDE Corporación, reported this Friday. To reduce gas consumption for electricity generation, ENDE Corporación works on hydroelectric projects that to date only generate 32% of electricity. Until 2019, Bolivia produced 2,100 megawatts (Mw), while the historical demand was around 1,500 Mw.
