UNICOM/ENDE TRANSMISIÓN: ENDE TRANSMISIÓN ADVANCES IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 230 kV ELECTRIC LINE LOS TRONCOS – GUARAYOS – TRINIDAD

ENDE Transmisión SA, a subsidiary of ENDE Corporación, is executing the project “Transmission Line 230 kV Los Troncos – Guarayos – Trinidad”, which will allow to extend the Interconnected Trunk System to the north of the department of Santa Cruz and to the city of Trinidad in the department del Beni, through new transmission lines in 230 and 115 kV. In an inspection carried out by a technical commission of the Company, chaired by the General Manager, Ing. Jorge Durandal Quinteros, it was found that the project currently presents a physical progress of 79%.

The scope includes the construction of the transmission line of approx. 383.30 km in length, made up of two sections with two different tensions; The first section of 372.16 km double triple 230 kV that will start in the existing substation Los Troncos 230 kV, will cross the new intermediate substation Guarayos 230 kV and in turn will connect with the new lowering substation called El Paraíso 230/115 kV ; the second section of 11.14 km double triplet at 115 kV, which will continue from the new El Paraíso 230/115 kV step-down substation to the existing Trinidad substation.

The main objective of this project is to replace diesel thermoelectric generation in the isolated system of Ascención de Guarayos and the Moxos Thermal Power Plant (Trinidad), which represents a higher economic cost and environmental impact for the country. In addition, it will make it possible to reinforce the reliability of the electricity supply to the city of Trinidad, the population of Guarayos, and will make it possible to increase the electricity transmission capacity to meet the growing demand of these important regions of the country.
