ENDE TRANSMISIÓN INSTALLS IN PARADISE 230/115 kV SUBSTATION, THE FIRST STATIC COMPENSATION SYSTEM IN BOLIVIA.
ENDE Transmisión SA, a subsidiary of ENDE Corporación, is executing the project “Transmission Line 230 kV Los Troncos – Guarayos – Trinidad”, which will allow to extend the Interconnected Trunk System to the north of the department of Santa Cruz and to the city of Trinidad in the department del Beni through the construction of substations and transmission lines in 230 and 115 kV.
As part of the scope of the project, is the construction of the new Paraíso lowering substation and in it, the installation of a Static Synchronous Compensator (“STATCOM”) equipment of ± 50 MVAr on the 115 kV bus with all the corresponding facilities (civil works), new technology implemented for the first time in the country.
STATCOM is a static reactive power compensation system that controls the voltage levels required by the system under steady state and dynamic conditions. It is an important piece of equipment that also makes it possible to improve stability, ensure the operation of the electrical system and avoid possible collapses in the transmission network.
